My Boys
Captain
My first Dog was a R.S.P.C.A 18 mth old Border Collie called Captain
I taught him Obedience myself but never competed with him.
Captain's temperment wasn't good because of bad ill treatment by previous owner.
We had Captain until he was 8 yrs old sadly he had a brain tumor and had to be put to sleep.
The last 2 yrs of Captain's life we was offered a Rough Collie X Sheltie
He was about 5 yrs old and was picked up as a stray by the Dog warden.
Friends of our's couldn't keep him as there dog didn't get on with him,
I named him Shep ( Night Shephard ) and so our Journey started on the Obedience Road.
We Joined Gravesend Dog Club it was run by Pat Trigg.
We competed in Pre-Beginner's & Beginner's Shep had 2 wins in Pre-Beginner
and gained many placings in both classes,
We also did many club matches which he did very well at.
Shep was a lovely dog and worked well.
I always felt that he would only go so far in the obedience world.
I Decided to retire shep.
Shep lived untill he was about 14yrs old
Thankyou shep for starting me on the road to Obedience shows
I had been bitten by the bug and like most people back then I wanted a Border Collie
There was a 7 mth old Working Sheepdog pup that needed a home his name was Joey
( Hillstone-Ladd ) bred by Madeline loft.
Joey was a wonderful dog and Quilified through the classes from Beginner to 'C' Class.
Joey won 2 beginner's, 2 Novice's, 6 'A''s , 3 'B''s, 3 Quilifier's in 'C' class.
We needed the 'C' win to go into 'Ch' C class.
All was going well then Joey was struck down with Benign tumors which started to affect his work
as most of the tumor's were in the leg area & hip.
I made the decision to retire Joey he was about 5 yrs old, he lived till he was 15 yrs old.
Joey will always be a very special boy and together we nearly got that pot of gold.
Tom was a 5 mth old Tri-Colour Working sheepdog and we was his 6th owner
Tom was my Husbands dog and was a non working pet we lost Tom at 13 yrs old.
Our next boy was a Tri-colour Farm Bred working sheepdog
His name was Yuki and my first puppy of 8 weeks old,
Yuki did his Obedience well and had many placings at shows,
I always felt his heart was never really in it.
I am a firm believer that a dog should want to work for you and not have to work for you.
I decided to try Agility and Wow he loved it and was good at it.
We did some shows and his future looked bright to continue in Agility.
When Yuki was about 6 yrs old he suddenly became unwell within 2 days you were gone
Yuki was diognosed with stomach cancer nothing could be done to save you
Sadly I had to let you go on the operating table they were very dark days.
After quite a while we got another puppy he was a Border Collie 8 weeks old his name was Keebo
He was a work Aholic Keebo lived to work and play and to please me.
At the age of 10 mths old he started having fits,
Keebo was diagnosed with Epilepsy and was on Medication.
In Keebo's Obedience life he Won
2 Novice's, 3 A's, and was about to work 'B' class when the fits got worst
Sadly Keebo aged 4 yrs old died.
Keebo was such a special boy all through the Epilepsy he was always happy.
He was also a rising star in the Obedience world.
We was for the first time in our life without any dog's and it was hell.
It was about 10 mths before I even thought about another dog,
I felt I still needed a dog in my life and also wanted to continue with my hobby
which I loved doing and I love the Breed.
Some one said to me Sue you have so much love to give to dogs never deny loving another one.
The decision was made to get another collie his name was Tarik a Border collie he was 8 weeks old.
A lovely kind gentle dog, I worked Tarik in Novice & 'A' class he won 2 Novice's and had placings in 'A'
Everything was going great then Tarik started having fits at 18 mths old,
I was advised by my Vet to retire Tarik from working as his Epilepsy was so bad.
It took me about 6 mths to find my next working dog which is Jaz.
Jaz is a Working Sheepdog and is farm bred, I have had Jaz from 8 weeks old,
Jaz was 1 yr old when sadly we lost Tarik at 3 yrs old to Epilepsy.
History had repeated it's self again.
Even to this day I still hate that illness that took my beautiful boys.
Owing to my poor health and other family issues I came out of doing shows for a while.
Also it takes alot out of someone to keep getting back on the ladder and starting again,
After a while I decided to start again with Jaz.
He won 2 Novices and was going to work 'A' class
Jaz developed a problem with one of his legs which affected the Sit position
I made the decision to retire Jaz from shows.
Jaz will be 12 yrs old this July and is enjoying life.
For a long time I had always wanted to have a Red/White collie
I had been looking for about 2 yrs then on Obedience Uk Rescue Page
Was this thin looking Red/white collie about 10 mths old he had been found as a stray
and was at Battersea Dogs home London he was then moved to Brands Hatch centre.
We went to see him with Jaz and they both got on great so we came home with him
Ozzi was about 1yr old and Jaz was about 2yrs old
I worked Ozzi in Novice and he did fairly well getting some placings.
He also loves doing heelwork to Music moves,
Ozzi has also done a photo shoot for Battersea.
When my health took a turn for the worst I had to come out of doing shows and haven't returned.
Who know's maybe I will one day as I do miss doing the shows.
Ozzi is now about 9 yrs old and still enjoys coming to club and showing off.
I have been very lucky to of known all the Boys we have shared our lives with
there has been good and bad times.
None of us never own a dog they are only lent to us
We must make the most of the time we have with them.
To all our Boys
Past & Present
Thank you
Red Wizard of Oz ( Ozzi )
My Beautiful Red Boy
Ozzi was given sleep on the 28th May 2014 ( Approx 9yrs old )
( It was also yuki's Birthday Date )
Who we lost at 6yrs old
It all happened in one day
We are both Shocked and Stunned at how sudden it was
I thought we had more years together
You leave behind 3 broken hearts
Mum & Dad & Playmate Jaz
From the first moment we saw each other at Battersea Dogs Home Brandshatch
You and I knew we were meant to be together.
I wasn't able to have you from a very young pup but I know you would of turned out the same
You made our lives so much Richer and brought laughter & gaiety in everything you did
From sunrise to sunset you lived your life to the full with a smile on your face
If people in the world could be as happy as you it would be a far better place
Your life was taken by Cancer in a few hours nothing could be done to save you
We didn't know you had the cancer
I had to let you go on the operating table
The day before you was your usual self & full of life then in a blink of a eye you was gone
Ozzi you had so much love & Joy in your heart and you gave it all to us
Your beauty, talent and intelligence were evident
I said every day to you that we saved each other
You always snuggled in close and gave a little sigh as much to say yes
Sadly I couldn't save you in the end and I will always feel bad about that
You came to us at a sad time in our life after losing Tarik at 3 yrs old to Epilepsy
I should of named you Ever Ready because that's how you were up for anything & everything
From a life as a Starving stray in London you rose like a phoenix
Owing to my health problems I was unable to carrie on working you which I regret
I know you was just happy to be with me
I know what it's like to have a one in a million dog and you are one of those
Some people dream of having a dog like you I was the lucky one to of got you
Thankyou for all the lovely years we spent together
You lit a fire in my heart & soul
There are not enough words to say how we feel
Your friend Jaz will miss you
We will miss you forever

Jaz was given sleep on the 24th March aged nearly 12 yrs old
Jaz became unwell suddenly
We are shocked cannot believe what has happened again
We have now lost our 2 lovely boys in 10 mths
Our Hearts are broken yet again
I got Jaz at 8 weeks old he was farm bred and came from the Isle of Sheppey
In the beginning Jaz wasn't an easy dog to train everything was a battle.
I continued to train Jaz and he reached a good standard of Training
I decided to compete with Jaz and he won 2 Novice Classes
We was going to work A class
Jaz developed a problem with one of his back legs which made sitting awkward
I decided to retire Jaz he didn't mind at all
Jaz has always been a mummy's boy and has always been at my side
There is No doubt that Jaz lived only for me he didn't care about anyone else.
Jaz has always been a faithfull friend to me.
Since Losing his friend Ozzi in May last year there was a change in Jaz
I felt that Jaz had aged even more
They had been together for 9 yrs
Since having Rico nearly 10mths Jaz seemed to perk up
Jaz & Rico had a great christmas
Jaz had some benign tumors & some arthritas in his back legs
Jaz still seemed happy in himself
The sudden illness that Jaz had was not something I had really heard about
He became unwell over a couple of weeks and was on medication
He had a Cancer Nasal Tumour
Sadly there was nothing that could be done
Jaz was given sleep to save any further suffering
I have always had a strong bond with Jaz and my heart is breaking
I will miss your funny ways and everything about you
Your Heart beat is my Heart beat
Thank you Jaz for being my constant Companion & faithful friend to the end
You are a loyal friend sadly this is not always present in humans
You and Ozzi are back together now run free my beautiful boys at the Rainbow Bridge
We will look for you both
In every bird that flys, every flower that blooms and every star that shines bright
Untill we all meet again sleep tight
I love you JP & Ozzi
Lots of Love
Mum & Dad , Rico
